I know it’s probably been talked about a bunch because the issue has been out for a while, but I just can’t get over the pictures. She looks incredible! She makes me want to cut my hair immediately! (i won’t though haha)

So GORGEOUS! buy the magazine for the rest!!

While I always thought of velvet as a fabric for older women, this month’s issue of Vogue says otherwise. With young designers such as Alexander Wang designing hip velvet bomber jackets, velvet has become the new obsession for Fall.

Sorry I haven’t been posting recently. I’m struggling as it’s finals week, but I just had to devote at least one post to the Met Ball that was last night. The dresses/ensembles were simply too beautiful to put off. While the theme was “models as muses,” I think more than just the models’ outfits were muse-worthy. Here are some of my favs…some commentary included… (photos: style.com)

Ashley Olsen in her own line The Row (I love her new haircut, very Gwenyth)

Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson (she's wearing Chanel Haute Couture) I have to say I'm always a fan of Chanel's white lace (remember Maggie Gyllenhall's white lace with pink bow?)

Lou Doillon in Nina Ricci (this girl is just so classic French! tres chic!)

Kate Hudson, Stella McCartney, Liv Tyler and Kate Bosworth (all of these dresses are just beautiful. Props to Stella she designed them all!) I especially love both Kates' dresses. She captured their essences so well!

Darya Werbowy in Balmain (simple but I really like the ankle boot. Balmain is very chic right now. I'm surprised she didn't choose a higher shoulder)

Mary Kate Olsen in a vintage Christian Lacroix Haute Couture (at first I didn't really like this, but I think the way that she did her hair/makeup makes it look very ethereal and quite beautiful)

Erin Wasson in Phi and Lady Amanda Harlech (I really like Erin Wasson's look. It's not exactly Met Ball appropriate, but I love the edge she always carries with her. The pants look very Alexander Wang.)

Design Duo Vena Cava: Sophie Buhal and Lisa Mayock in their own designs (I love Lisa's little top with the pants very innovative. You can definitely tell that these girls are designers.)Rachel Bilson in Bally (I love Rachel Bilson, but I feel like I've seen this before maybe it was a Brian Reyes green dress a la 2008?)
